In my opinion, individuals, like a company, must have a lifestyle of social responsibility.

And with the upcoming holiday break due to Lenten observation in the Philippines, I am taking this opportunity to return something to the corporate community by conducting a series of FREE learning sessions on “Spiritual Intelligence in a tech savvy corporate world“. This will only take about 1-2 hours and 6 slots were allotted,  2 each from Monday to Wednesday [March 29-31,2010].

As of this writing though, of the 6 slots, 3 has been taken and a fourth company is finalizing it’s schedule. Surprisingly,  scores of individuals are also asking if they can join any of the available sessions. On a different schedule, we may hold similar session for individual participants if the companies can not accommodate them.

Please forward this invitation to interested companies or you may ask them to leave a message in this PAGE.

Look up and be filled =D

HR 2.0 [2]: Should HR Use Social Media and Blogs?

We started the year with a series on HR 2.0, and we are attempting to establish whether the Human Resources Division can use web 2.0 applications in the performance of it’s duties.

On our first issue, we defined what web 2.0 is, to bring all of us together in common understanding. As a review, web 2.0 consists of three pieces, namely:

  1. Rich Internet Applications (RIA)– this simply means bringing your desktop experience into the browser, i.e. drag and drop
  2. Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)– part of SOA, is feeds and RSS wherein it makes your subscription experience pleasant
  3. Social Web — As a non geek, this is the only piece that we can relate to because this is the end product wherein we, the end user becomes an integral part. These services include video and audio/podcast sharing like Youtube, Social Media like Facebook and LinkedIn, Blogs like WordPress and Blogspot and Micro blogging like Twitter.

As a Human Resource practitioner, we will not concern ourselves with the 1st two pieces because only the 3rd piece can affect our work. Well, if you don’t agree with me on  this,  just tell me if you don’t have admin cases that is related to use of social media.
