A “happy wife = a happy life”. Simple but powerful statement. In my experience, life is pleasant when wife is happy and pleased. The sting of a scorned woman, or unhappy wife is not only awful, in some situation, it lasts a lifetime.
Man and woman are wired differently, and if man will recognize a woman’s unique needs, and attempt to meet them, there will be fewer problems in marriage. You may say, “but woman should also understand men and attempt to meet his unique needs”, I agree 101%. But to avoid the chicken and egg question, the “man” being the head in a relationship and family, should take the initiative and lead.
What are woman’s needs?
Every woman are different so his man should exert considerable effort to understand her. But let me share with you at least three generic needs.
Your answer to that reflects your own set of values about relationships, and to some extent, pre conceived ideas too.
But allow me to share my experience as a person married for 17 years (to date) to my former college professor who is 9 years older than me, ha ha.
When I started courting her on 1986, wifey thought I was just playing a game. So I got busted twice. When we started the relationship, her friends and family was against it. Everybody thought we had a relationship bound not to last, and wifey will be at the losing end. But on December of 1992, we tied the knot.
6 Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death,
its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame.
7 Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give
all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned.
- Song of Solomon (Song of Songs) 8:6-7
