Touched by God

I’ve been a Christian since 1989 and there were times I feel dry spiritually. No, I’m not talking about backsliding. I still love God but perhaps because of issues in the family, office politics and other concerns, I tend to feel tired and weary.

This is the reason why I chose to participate in the three days (June 1-3) revival meetings at Cathedral Of Praise. When revival hit Manila on the early 90’s. I am in the middle of it. It was such a refreshing and life changing experience. It was thru that encounter with God that I had the guts to do what is right. Fast forward to the present, I came to the services praying for a fresh encounter with the God I believed and for the Lord to change my heart. I think I’ve become a little arrogant and rude and I don’t want this to stay. I want to lead my family by example, and if they see my life as a contradiction to our faith, I will not be an effective husband and father to them.

On the first night, as one of the designate ushers, we were focus on maintaining order in the premises and assist the pastors when they pray for people (catch the people if they fall under the power and love of the Holy Spirit). I got a taste of the power of God at the latter part of the service but I said to my self that was not enough.

On the second night, I was kinda late because of some issues at work that I have to attend to. But I made it to the service before the Pastor made an altar call for people who want to be prayed over. I made sure I will make it in front as I hurriedly came forward. After a few minutes of praying and reaching out to God,  I was down on the floor laughing and crying at the same time as God embraced me with is love.

On the third night, I brought my wife and 2 kids with me. I want my children to personally witness the power of God.

After I was touched by God on the second night, I know something changed. Looks like I’m released from a lot of stress and got longer patience. And since I want more of God’s reality and love, I also joined the church in their weekend fasting (June 5-7). I will share in my next post my fasting experience.

God is good, His love never fails.
